The Public Utilities Commission of Texas today approved its Report to the 80th Legislature on the Scope of Competition in Telecommunications Markets in Texas.

NOTE: This PUC Report to the 80th Legislature is not the same as two other interim studies expected from Texas House and Senate committees. These other reports may provide more detailed treatment of the implementation of SB 5, and are expected before the next session that begins on January 9, 2007.

Also today the PUC postponed action until December 14 on item #7, PUC Rulemaking Proceeding to Implement SB 5 Amendments to Local Government Code Chapter 283 and to Address the Redefinition of Access Line Pursuant to Local Government Code Chapter 283.003

And today the PUC had no updates on item # 9, Plan for Implementing SB 5.
